With over 47 years of professional experience, Joe Pirozzi is a recognized expert in the planning, design, construction and operations of dry bulk and general cargo terminals. He has in-depth knowledge of bulk material handling equipment and systems and the operation and maintenance of dry bulk handling port facilities.
Joe started his career designing bulk handling systems and eventually became vice-president of Engineering and Facility Operation at Orba Corporation and later General Manager at Soros Associates—both prestigious firms specializing in port and bulk handling systems engineering.
He led engineering, construction and operations for several bulk terminals in the U.S. including the Superior Midwest Transhipment Facility, which receives 20 Mtpy of coal by unit train for storage and loading onto 65,000
DWT vessels.
Joe has worked in Angola, Australia, Croatia, Egypt, Guinea (Conakry), India, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Peru, Senegal and South Africa.
