Bob Wardwell has over 40 years of consulting experience in the preparation and management of port planning and related environmental assessment projects. He specializes in environmental impact assessments and permitting for port development and dredging projects.
Bob prepares dredge material management plans, sediment sampling and analyses plans, oversees sediment collection and testing, assesses dredge sediment testing for disposal options and assists owners in coordinating and completing state and federal permit applications for dredging and port development in waters of the US. He has experience with assessing types and costs of dredging, design of channel and berth dredging, disposal of sediment in open water, upland and confined aquatic disposal cells. He has developed and worked pre and post dredge monitoring plans pursuant to conditions of state and federal permits. Overall, he has completed over 200 environmental documents for port development and dredging.
In the United States and territories, Bob has undertaken projects in Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Georgia, Guam, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington, Northern Marianas, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. His international experience includes port development projects in Albania, Benin, Canada, Cape Verde, Egypt and Kenya.
Formerly a Ports Specialist with the U.S. Maritime Administration, Bob has been actively involved with the port industry for more than four decades. He has served as an expert environmental and land use witness and as Adjunct Professor of Environmental Impact Analyses at the University of New Haven Graduate School.
